60/40 suspension kit on 16" on a 6n2??

Post by alanjwong »

Hello everyone,

Im trying to find out whether or not I can lower my 6n2 with 16" wheels on a 60/40 suspension kit.

The one Im thinking of getting is the H&R 60/40 cup suspension kit.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The tyres im running are 195/40/16. Does that make any difference??

I dont want the wheels rubbing on the arches. Will I get any problems like that??

Cheers

nope not really a problem, 40 is quite a low profile so you should be good, 60mm really isnt much on the 6n2 tbh, the 60/40 will give it a nice drop, but you will only start getting 'problems' after probably 80-90mm

Youd never get that low on 16s :P They are too wide for one!

Is 60/40 a good drop for speed bumps and such?

40 in the back to allow for the weight of a sub..

as far as im aware mate, its not many. Most people do 60/40 on a 15 inch, but as DPM said it should be fine so you may as well just go ahead and get it ordered

Whats the best to go by then?

I currently have 2 12" subs in the boot

Eventually going to reduce to 1 when i have the money.

I want my car to still be practical, so still be able to have atleast 4 people in the car.

What drop do you recommend?

Oh, and probably..eventually be on 15's. SOmething like TH monos.. (is what im interested in currently)

The rear shocks on my wife's 6N2 are shot so I've got hold of a 60/40 kit (Jackson tuning setup)

Picking it up this week and will attempt to fit myself too.. Any advice before I go ahead? Haynes manual says I should replace the nuts with new ones? Is that true?

Also I'm looking at sourcing some BBS RX (I) 16' with ET35 offset. I assumed that would be perfectly fine (running on 195/40's) but reading the above comments.. can I expect some issues then???
