It's an LED strip, you need to replace the entire thing

One guy on here replaced it with a strip of LED's from Maplin.

Do the proper replacement to check the good condition for its brake. It’s necessary that you know the right bulb. Probably, replacing it with a strip of LED's from Maplin is not a bad idea.

It's just a strip of LEDs. They aren't removable so you need to replace the entire thing if it fails.

If they are quoting you stupid prices, there are loads on ebay usually. They are the same for the 9N and 9N3.

Infact your are wrong my friend, they are removable I have just done the job lol 8) Maybe there are 2 versions??

They are just small bulbs you can take out, 2 of mine were out I just pulled them out and replaced them and they work fine now!

Whoops  never noticed that they were removable when I changed mine... really need to be more observant lol.

Sorry for the complete misdirection mate, glad you got it sorted out anyway.

No worries mate, I only found out when I emailed the dealers and the chap told me I could just replace the bulbs instead of the whole thing :)

They are not simply bulbs in the 2001 Polo. They are a soldered set of LED's, having said that it would be possible to re-solder in a new "bulb" if you had one.

The Maplin solution is among my other posts ... http://www.uk-polos.net/view ... 13&t=47029

Hope this helps
