actually, i believe it was just the battery, low power...
i've charged it and started working again, but as I was testing what i believed was the lighting wire, i left it plugged in a bit longer and smoke came out, no more than a cigarette lighted on. after that, all the other wires i tested lighted the dash on instead of the previous functions i detected...
i might be messing up the whole thing, right?

You need to be careful as many things are driven by relays and control modules rather than the clocks themselves, so high currents such as bulbs can burn the clocks out
