It weighs about 16-17lbs on my old rubbish scales.
Great. Well Awesome sell an ECS one which weighs 14lbs and is meant to produce no chatter so can't see how a stock one weighing more would.

If you lighten it don't go under 14lbs.

ok just re-checked and I am slightly wrong.

The ECS one is 20.5 lbs so the G60 one may produce some rattle  sorry for the incorrect info.

I have that clutch with the 14lb flywheel

There is very minor chatter when idling without your foot on the clutch (obviously louder from ouside the car than sitting inside), other than that, no difference in noise really than a standard one

Well I've put it in :) And no chatter!! I thought I heard some last night when I did it but I cant hear any today so I dont think there is any...
In my opinion the engine seems to be less strained when accelerating and it does seem a bit faster accelerating :)
The biting point has moved loads though, its literally as you lift your foot up about an inch which feels weird but I quite like it. So over all very happy with it.

That's great news. I'll be getting one of these instead of my Fidanza one I am currently using as I'm feed up of the chatter now.

G60 fly with VR6 clutch is a more done set up.
the G60 flywheel is single mass and soes produce more noice also as the stock version, but it is not much because we have 5 speed gearboxes.
if you put this set up on a 6speed gearbox you will go crazy from the noise it will produce!
keep in mind that the VR6 clutch is rated to 350Nm torque, and a mapped polo can easy produce this.
so i won't recommend this set up on a stage 2 polo...
best clutches for road use and good feeling wich are strong enough are the ones from sachs performance.
slightly harder as the stock ones and they do the job verry good.

ps: i wont recomment a lighter flywheel on a GTI as well...
some people take a lightend G60 flywheel but the problem is, it will rev faster as before, but it will fall back in rev's faster as before to.
and like we all know, our gearboxes ar not made to shift fast without crunching the hell out of it.
synchro's are to slow.
so a lighter flywheel is good and well but you have to shift fast enough to keep it in the right rev's otherwise it will fall back to far.
and unless you get a DECENT shortshift tower you are doing more bad as good in youre performance figures...

How come this set up isn't good for stage 2? Because quite a few people are running standard clutches at stage two and no problems as far as I know.

I am going to get a forge Hirt shifter eventually, any other ways to get a smoother but faster gear change?

bacause stage II when mapped to higher figures can put down close to 400Nm torque and the stock clutch can not hold this (in theory)
i have stage II at 240Hp and it does have close to 400Nm and still have stock clutch,
but i notice it is wearing out, it is not slipping yet, it's a matter of time.
and a VR6 clutch is rated at 350Hp, it can hold more in most cases but if it can't hold it, you have to put a new clutch in and it will cost you money again..
not worth trying i guess
even if your stock clutch (like mine) can hold it, it will wear faster bacause it will have trouble holding the power.
it's not designed for holding that much torque.

oh and another thing... not that forge is not good or anything but their "shortshifter" is not really a shortshifter, it just reduces the throw.
result is that when the engine is cold the synchro's are having trouble with this, sooner or later you probably will have problems with this system.
to give you an example of what i mean with a DECENT shortshifter wich will allow you to shift short without f*****g the synchro's...

this is for Golf IV but i think they also have this for our type of GB...

Hmm okay then, so your saying that I'm going to have to change my clutch plate again when I go to stage two because isn't vr6 isn't good enough? :(

Ohh I like the look of those shifters... They don't make one for our polo though :/ only the one before... Don't suppose you know of any other places that would do good shifters for our cars? Or if one of the shifters from a different car would fit ours?

if you allready have a VR6 clutch, just keep it and look what it does.
if it holds it's good enough
but if you need a new clutch i would play safe and buy a clutch wich i would know for 100% sure it could hold the power.
if you buy a VR6 clutch again and that one slips... you have bought a clutch that has no use for you and you will loose alot of money...

our gearboxtype is o2j i believe, so everything that fits this type gearbox will also fit our polo's.
but from my head i don't know witch other cars have the same gearbox (ibiza FR with BJX engine has the same, i know that for sure)

hope it helps
