01276 - ABS Hydraulic Pump (V64): Signal Outside Speci
I had an ABS light come on on the way back from Ed38. I got home, switched off and unloaded the car etc and when I started it later on the light cleared as normal. Today no light either.
I've plugged into VAGCOM tonight and got the above code. Is this the dry solder joint that I've heard about before in the ABS ECU? Does it start intermittently before packing up all together?
I've cleared the fault down and it hasn't come back (tonight). I hope it stays off until at least next Tuesday when it's due it's MOT. I've usually MOT'd it by now but I didn't want to risk a failure before this weekend
Cheers

Bugger! ah well.
So I assume taking the module off (to repair) and running the car without it with the ABS light on is technically OK?

Running the car like that is technically OK, just be wary in the wet as you don't have ABS!
It's a module off jobby yes, careful removing the four gold star headed bolts that hold it on. They are very easy to round off so ensure you've got your ratchet on at the right angle and with firm pressure.

If the ABS light is on/comes on during the mot it'll be an instant fail

Definatly sounds like the soldered joint has cracked, done mine a couple of weeks ago following alex's guide, repaired it and had it all back together within an hour, no problems scince! i'd do it before your MOT too its sods law the light will come on half way through and cost you another MOT

Mines been doing this for a while now, I didnt realise you could still drive the car with the module removed so I have been putting it off until I have a few days free, might just get me arse into gear now and pull it off and have a go at sorting it out

To be fair, you shouldnt drive the car with the ABS module removed as it can pull dust into the ABS pump housing as its a sealed unit when the module is attached.

Yeah, I'd polly bag the ABS pump up if I took the car out a lot.

Well I did mine today in my Dinner hour and it is a pretty easy job to do in fact the hardest thing for me was getting hold of a E5 torx bit. The casing was a faff as it took time but the seam is pretty to follow with a hack saw.
I drove home tonight and its been the first time in ages that the light didnt come on, hopefully thats the end of it now
