venom suspension

Post by lowpo »

Hi has anybody got venom motorsports own suspension, i have just fitted a 70 mm lowering kit with springs and dampers to my gt, the front looks well sweet but the problem is the back. i think it is about 15mm higher than the front, which looks a bit funny. Just wondering what you think i shud do. I was thinking about cutting a coil out.

I was going to cut half a coil out and see the difference.... watch this space!

The back up is apparently the 'Euro look' if you fancy leaving it. Otherwise its just there to make sure you can carry rear passengers (who does that on a regular basis?)

I have Venom Edition shocks, but they were out of stock of 70mm springs so I got Spax -60mm springs instead (would've got the 80mm springs but they were out of stock too..), and yes, the rear of my GT sits noticeably higher than the front.. Getting quite used to it now.

Yeh, this is right...when you order a kit now you usually get 2 different sizes of springs, usually 40's at rear and much lower at front..say 70mm!
So's you can carry stuff without rubbing.
I'd heard from Venom that their own stuff was re-badged G-max, and in turn these used to be Jamex who no longer exist!....Venom's own stuff is made in the same G-max factory so technically they're the same!
Whether or not the valves/dampers inside are different???
I've got 40mm allround G-max on my 16v golf, and find they grip like stink thru the corners!

a car dropped too much at the back can get a little uncomfortable if you're a rear seat passenger when going to the pub
well, if its a fiesta anyway :D

no worse than riding a hardtail bike tho!

I'm wanting mine lower at the front. It's in order to help traction and reduce lifting up at the front. Also I think it looks better with a slight nose down appearance...

Don't know if this will be of any help, when I had new springs put into mine was was also front heavy, guess this was because of the the weight of the engine. New springs need to be bedded in and this usually involves weight put onto the back as someone mentioned previously, get some mates in the back and give them a lift somewhere far...or like me get some heavy rocks and shove them in the boot, after a while the rear should look pretty much the same as the front...
