Hi, I have a friend working at the VW Plant in Spain, he told me that no R version will be produced for the 6C generation. No info about next generation of Polo regarding a R model, but it is coming at the end of 2016 beginning 2017 and some suppliers started working on it.

I have spoken to someone at VW who confirmed that there is no R version in the works in Germany

I have the 2012 year and tbh I do prefer the Monza Shadow alloys over the new ones. Not too sure about the front end though it makes the model look more different. I do like the side GTI badges above the front wheel arch

Regarding fuel consumption I think that it will be similar to the 1.4 though the insurance and initial outlay obv signif higher

+1 I waited a long time before ordering my Blue GT, as I really wanted the R, but by all accounts there is now little chance of it being built. A pity, as I have driven the Audi S1 and that is absolutely fabulous... but ugly and expensive, so a Polo R would have been perfect.

This is the worst Xmas present ever. :x

Looks like a second hand Golf R for me then.

At a bargain £245! If it's true DCC that's great.
The Golf DCC is around £800. I doubt if it will be the same system.

I have the old ACC (adaptive chassis control) system on my Mk6 Golf GTD. My switch says comfort, normal and sport. In reality my options are firm, less firm and really firm. At the end of the day it is still sports suspension and low profile tyres. With the new Golf DCC the dampers all work independently and faster. People are saying that the new system is much better. Though I will remain sceptical until I get a test drive.

My last 2 cars have been Golfs, but this new Polo GTI looks really interesting. Hopefully it's Chassis Control system actually has a proper 'comfort' mode. I would be really interested then.

It looks like the new Polo GTI has very similar performance to the Golf Mk5 R32.

I was looking at the Polo GTI configurator again. As I understand it the Polo GTI comes as standard with LED headlights. A very expensive option on some cars. Yet Bi-Xenons are still an option. So are Xenons still better than LED lights?

The pricelist says that the xenons are only available in the Bluemotion and BlueGT. It seems like the Bluemotion and BlueGT only got the internal changes with the facelift, with the exteriors staying exactly the same, and that includes the headlamps. Not entirely sure why, it looks kind of weird IMO.

Yes, I noticed that...it looks like a ''stop spending money'' developing the BlueGT and Bluemotion.

Yup, it's a shame, as good as the BlueGT looks they could at least have put some new plastic bits on the front. I wonder if it's to do with the aerodynamics? Seeing as it's the two 'Eco' Polos that have kept the old bumpers etc. The lights too- the 3 cars with the 'old' lights are the S, Bluemotion, and BlueGT! Nicely bracket the Polo range around the SE and SEL...
