Interesting feedback on the 6R GTI - sounds a bit of a fail on VW's part. It's not as fast as the GTI but I can assure you it's far easier to live with and it looks fantastic. I'm already getting over 50mpg as an average without even trying and I'm using bog standard supermarket fuel (the min 95 RON for the car). It's also extremely comfy and I'm coming from a golf with nice fat tyres.Jamwllms wrote:I went into my dealer wanting a Polo GTI. Agreed. A couple of years ago I had a 420hp Jaguar XKR - gorgeous and very powerful, but I ended up getting rid because I was constantly worried about it getting dirty, keyed or stolen and I knew that if anything went wrong, it would costs literally thousands to fix. Indeed.
