Cheap sill protectors that actually protect

Post by TheFrog »

The kick plates and protective film available in the VW accessory catalogue look nice, but they're ridiculously expensive and - more to the point - don't always protect the leading edge that takes all the beating from wives and children

Cheap solution, some textured black vinyl wrap. I got mine here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390683105411

As with all vinyl wrap, a heat gun is useful, though not essential in this instance. The 4 doors took me about 20 minutes, cost was negligible and the wrap feels tough enough to last a good few years.

This is brilliant, VW charge far too much. Will do this at the weekend and post pics.

Thanks!

No problem. The great thing with this solution is that you can cut the vinyl to however long/wide you want :)
