Just started my sons car and let it warm up to normal when the engine management light came on. Luckily I bought a code reader from Ebay and that gave me a code of P0141.....................
02 sensor heater circuit (bank 1 sensor 2).
Can someone please tell me what this is and where it is located?
I have only just replaced the thermostat and (green) heater sensor.
fault code P0141

Re: fault code P0141
Thats on the lambda sensor. Bank 1 is in the exhaust manifold on the front of the engine.
Its very common for the wiring to break down on these where they meet the plug on the gearbox

Hi Alex. I'm probably totally wrong but wouldn't that be bank 1 sensor 1? I had an idea that sensor 2 was on the exhaust somewhere????alexperkins wrote:Thats on the lambda sensor. Bank 1 is in the exhaust manifold on the front of the engine.

Great thanks. I'll have to wait till we get a decent dry day before crawling about on the floor. I'll get back to you with the result.alexperkins wrote:I read sensor 1 . yes sensor 2 is in the exhaust after the cat

Can someone please confirm that this is the right connector for "bank1 sensor2".......I think it is but just want to make sure.

That's bank1 sensor 1. Wiring for sensor 2 is underneath. Follow the sensor wiring from after the cat

Re: fault code P0141
Cheers Alex. As they are both together thought I might as well check them both out. Disconnected both plugs, blew out any dust with compressor, sprayed inside both plugs and sockets with WD 40 and reconnected.alexperkins wrote:That's bank1 sensor 1. Removed fault code and restarted engine..............EM light is now flashing and when I tested for which fault code, it is now coming up with
Took out plug 3 and ran engine......it ran the same as with plug in, a bit ropey. Replaced plug, removed fault code and started the engine..........No EM light and no fault codes.
Engine now runs like it should.

Re: fault code P0141
Happy Day (minus the "s") cos the gremlins will be out again tonight removing bits and creating even more fault codes. I've actually seen them do italexperkins wrote:Happy days
