is it possible to bolt up an mk4 engine (afh i think) to a mk2 gearbox??

not sure of the gearbox code but its from a 1L
but i think the engine code is afh!?? out of a 1.4 16v mk4


probably won't but its worth asking just in case, and yes i know the ratios will be all wrong for the 1.4 engine

4 or 5 spped Mark2 box? I'm assuming 5 speed?

yep 5 speed, any ideas if they will fit together if the flywheels are changed over?

quite possibly yes, unless the 8v and 16v engines have different shaft sizes on them or splines or something (i remember reading something like that somewhere :) but it may be an american rather than euro problem). Some of the earlier mk2 boxes also have that problem and cant even be swapped onto a mk2 engine of a different setup without an adaptor.
