Find Low Beam Wire on Polo 6R

Post by NERVO123 »

Hello I'm new on this forum but I've read a lot of posts before without finding an answer to my question.

My car usually didn't came with fog lights in the front bumper, so the seller retrofitted it in a bad way. I can tell by the wiring he did.

So I've removed all the wiring and now, I would like to use that fog lights as a DRL. As far as I know, I need a DRL module like attached below but according to this schematic, I have to connect this yellow cable to the low beam cable in the engine bay to allow the drl to turn off when the low beam is turned on. But I have no way of knowing which wire controls the low beams and I'm not sure if there is only one cable controlling these low beams. so I'd like to know if this cable has a specific color ?

It should look like this :

So, what you must do:

DRL without start/stop:
T17/3 (light switch pin 3) to fuse box fuse 56 (15A) (both sides) to DRL left and right

DRL with start/stop:
T17/3 to BCM T73b/29
T73a/5 (BCM) to DRL left
T73b/3 (BCM) to DRL right
Fuse 57 (permanent positive) to T73b/11

All right, thank you for your answer.

But I'm afraid I don't have enough knowledge to pass this yellow cable from the engine compartment to the fuse box located in the passenger compartment because this DRL module would be located in the engine compartment. Ideally it would be necessary to connect it to the fuse box but this module is already equipped with a fuse (not shown on this schematic). Moreover this yellow cable does not serve as a 12V power supply, it is just used to send the signal that the Low beam is on.

So I'd like to find the cable that corresponds to the Low beam on the headlight connector and then plug it back in using a T-connector like this one:

If it can help I found this diagram on another topic, I would like to know if I can find the low beam cable at the same position on the headlight connector of my car, if I’m right the headlight connector is T14 In that case ? So the cable that controls the low beam would be connected in PIN number 6 ?
