Bah. I bought a black one from VAG and it didnt work accurately either. Lets face it if they were that good from VAG we wouldnt have to replace them. Its a thermistor at the end of the day and probably costs about 20p to make, VW are just taking a larger slice profit wise. This could just be me being cynical I suppose. :(

But hey, its your decision. Image

cutting out

Post by lord_sharpy »

i thought i cured my cutting out then today, my car decided to cut out, sometimes when you put ya foot down it feels like not enough fuel gets through. but will then happily go to the red line, but after i do this the car will sometimes cut out like its taking air through the system, then if you just pootle along normally itl be fine, ive got a new fuel filter to go on tomorrow, but how do you tell if your fuel pump works?
cheers

If you suspect the fuel pumps are faulty, you need to do a fuel pressure test. By measing the pressure at the end of the fuel rail with a proper gauge.
