Hi everyone,
I have a 6C 1.2 tsi with steel wheels, and the standard factory ride height. I've been looking at getting some alloy wheels and maybe lowering the car to the GT height, but I have a trailer hitch on the back and I want to make sure that lowering the car won't give me problems when I tow a trailer. I've had some loads last time I was moving that really brought the rear end down, and just wanted to know if anyone who has a lower car, or a GT has ever had any issues with wheel rub when using a trailer.
Also just curious what your ride height was. I've read on another forum that the ride height for the GT according to the technical specs is 351mm+/-10mm for the front and 367mm+/-10mm for the rear (from wheel arch to centre of wheel.)
thanks all!

you should never exceed the maximum allowable weight on the trailer hook.
in most cases it's 80 kg/ 160lbs
If you don't go over this, the effect of a trailer should be about the same as a grown adult standing on your trailer hook.

Re: Polo GT ride height for Tow Bar
I'm pretty sure I'm not going over the weight, seeing as I can lift the trailer by hand to put it on the hitch, I'm not pulling boats or caravans, its just a small cube trailer from the hardware store... anyway I just want to be sure I can lower the car some and not have any issues, so thanks for the advice, but it wasn't super helpful to my question.
