"The Volkswagen paint warranty is not worth the paper it's written on" after 3 years. Those are not my words they are the words of the chap who dealt with warranty claims at the dealership where I bought mine from new. A couple of days after getting the car I noticed some tiny blisters on the inside of the passenger door "A-Pillar" He looked at it and after going over it with a paint thickness gauge for 5 mins said he would book it into the paint shop to be inspected and repaired after he acknowledged it was a manufacturing defect.alexperkins wrote: Wed Mar 23, 2016 3:27 pm I would take that back to the dealer. That should be covered under the paintwork warranty.
In chatting I said the paint warranty is good for 3 years and body 13 in the manual even if I hadn't noticed it so soon? He laughed. Apparently the 13 year part is for through holes! So how are you going to convince VW it started on its own and wasn't caused by damage (chip/hole/dent, etc) if it's already a hole?
Hope they hold their hand up and sort it but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Last time I washed mine I noticed I have some tiny little bubbles/spiders right at the rear edge of the drivers side sill. Mines nearly 12 but VW quality ain't what it used to be across the board.
