Some great pics Mole, thanks for posting. My car actually looks clean in some of those photos. Tis' a shame some of us didn't get the chance to talk more but hopefully there'll be plenty of time for that in the future.

The yokohama "stand" could have set the benchmark for next year. The first thing I heard when walked in from the car park was the sound of some tryes getting serious abuse! Set the tone nicely! Wouldn't have fancied hitting any of those cones in my own car, though!
I was seriously thinking having a go on that stand. But didn't feel I had the experience to do it  Just to recap, you have to hit the cones yeah? :P

Although Ash did help me pick up some dirt cheap 195/50/R15 V rated Toyos so they'll be going on the car Tuesday. I have heard good things from both Ash and Josh with them.

Overall I think it was an excellent weekend, it was great to put faces to the names and I've come back with a wealth of information to help with my next mods.
Like you say Petrified it was wierd seeing peoples cars in the flesh, almost envious  BTW Josh, did you buy that wrench and pay a visit the porka stand??

I think everyone owes a big thanks to Josh for organising the whole thing in the first place, so thanks Josh :)

On a side note; I'd like to apologise to Ash and Josh for my abysmal driving on the Saturday, lol! I'm not usually that bad :? and that MK3 VR6 shouldn't have slowed down!!

Thanks Neil!

I'm glad everyone enjoyed themselves. I think it went really well (apart from almost loosing the gazebo to the wind on Saturday!)

I have a very sunburnt face now and my feet are aching! Signs of a good show!

I'll be posting my photo's later, for now I'll list what I bought at the show:

Genuine front VW Badge (Black)
Genuine VW/BBS Carbon Effect Centre Caps
2 Packs of Philips Vision Plus H7 Bulbs (Fogs and Full Beam)
Philips Blue Vision Sidelights
Philips Silver Vision Front Indicator Bulbs
Unknown Brand Silver Side Repeater Bulbs
VW Racing Cap
VW/Audi Warning Triangle

Total: £80.70

Not bad!

Anyway, I'm going to sort out my photo's (I can't believe I only took 18! :( ) then attempt to drop my bumper and fit the full beam and sidelight bulbs (bloomin VW making it impossible to change bulbs on the GTi without taking the car to bits :x )

It was great to meet everyone that came along! I hope to see you all again soon.

So, when's the next meet  ?

Seriously, it was good to meet your cars, if not the people. Kicking myself for not putting more effort into searching your guys out.

Deek.

Yeah - I'm up for that!

I can do anything pretty much in England - midlands (east or west) woudl be ideal. Just so long as the location is easy to find and get to!

Hi

We have been holding small meetings tagged onto the UK-MKIVS regional meetings with some success... Ie there hasn't been a massive turnout of Polos, but we've had a good day out.

There will be a UK-MKIVS Midlands Meeting soon which we could use as an excuse to get together. It will be held at Donnington Park (J23a M1) - East Midlands Airport. I don't know when just yet, but as soon as I know, I'll let you know.

The nice thing about joining the UK-MKIVS when they meet is that there are more people to meet, more cars to look at etc etc... Plus there are lots of things that they do to their Golfs that we can do to our Polos too! Inspiration!

I might look into holding a Club Stand at other VW shows throughout the year. Let me know what you think.

Donnington sounds ideal - it's about ten miles from my house!

Cool!

Donnington is pretty central in England anyway, so it shouldn't be too bad for most people.

Anyway....

Here are my photos:

Sounds good to me too, if it's on a Sat I can also drive home to East Yorkshire to visit my parents too. :D

I know quite a few MK Golf forum peeps so that's great as well.

It was nice to talk to you speedlaw, I had 101 questions to ask you but of course when your on the spot you forget them all!!

Hardhitter told me there is a Polo only meet in August (can't remember where), perhaps that'd be a good place to have another club stand and try and get everyone down??

Highlights of my weekend where seeing Kupras immaculate MK3 GT and hearing Polo2ks engine and exhaust  I've gotta get a clip of that!!

Yeah Neil,

Same for me, I had tons of questions and things I wanted to look at, but then I managed to forget them all...

Oh well. Had fun anyway!
