Hi all , just bought a fixer upper , need someone to confirm or deny that the rear shocks on a dune/cross/fun ( wherever you are in the world) are the same as a standard polo of the same era ?
The dune has a raised ride height from factory are the shocks longer or is this all in the springs to achieve this .
Thanks in advance

Re: 2006 Polo Dune Rear Shocks advise
Have you ever thought or tried, to get a copy of "CAR DATA" for this car, if you get/got that, you would end up with the exact option ie PR: codes for everything and that will include rear damping - and that would let you match that info with what is on the VW parts listings.
I've had a quick look, and didn't see mention of "Dune" as being an option, just "heavy duty" and "HOR" listed against some PR: options.

Re: 2006 Polo Dune Rear Shocks advise
Hi thanks,
Mine does still have the data stickers in the boot and front of the service book,
I’ve had a look through them using OBD11 to decode the numbers and found some referring to suspension components.
PR CODES
1GB : front shock absorption for rough road design
1JB : rear shock absorption for rough road design
G11 : front shock absorption
L18 :suspension range 18 installation control only
0YB : weight range 2 installation control only
Nothing jumps out to say different shock absorbers to standard, so I guess it’s all in the springs .
