Car in question - Polo mk5 16v 2001
I've been having problems with my cluth
1. Getting in and out of gears i push the pedal down try select a gear and i basically have to force it into the gear it will go into gear but then sometimes it wont !! If i push even harder on the cluth it will go into gear pritty easy - when i say harder i mean most of the power i have in my left leg to push the cluth down !!!!
2. A crunch when selecting reverse even when waiting and putting it into first etc - its only recently its started doin this.
3. The pedal is heavy compared to my dads vauxhall zafira (nothing else to compare to )
4. I dont think its the cluth thats causing the problem (Any takers ??). If i put the car into first and lift the cluth slowly to find its bitting point it is only about 1cm - 2cm of the floor so the clutch seems to be bitting okay and it isnt a high bitting point
5. Today i went out for lunch , sitting at the lights , selects first gear -- and i hear like a click (relay perhaps - not two clicks just one) this happend just after the bitting point on bringing the peadal upwards, it doesnt do it when going downwards at any point only upwards. The click sounds like it is coming from the dash !! !!!!!! And not from the pedal
Netrual , First Gear, 2nd Gear !!
It does it when the car is running and when the car is not running , but only in these gears !
6. I think it may be the pedal box , as they did recall the GTi for there pedal boxes - is it the same pedal box in the mk5 i have ? If it is its almost certain its the pedal box ???
7. I know one of you lot can help me out
It will almost be certain to go to Vw to be checked !!!!! Just to see if anyone has had similar problems ? or knows of anything similar to this ? As i suspect this could cost a good bit to be fixed
Nice One , Neil.
