Door Locks

Car was broken into - subs , amp and cd player gone

They tried to break the door lock (drivers) without succeed they put the window in. ( Drivers + Back Window)

The lock on the drivers door is shafted - vw want 117.50 to supply and fit !

Thing i want to know is -

Can i use the passenger door lock in the drivers door ? B
Because then i would put a back hand on the passenger door with a blank handle basically - them i would use the passenger handle + lock , on the drivers side - then i would have only one lock to get into the car , that seems securer/safer/cheaper. (If the lock fails i can use the boot to get in)

Sorry to hear abouth the break in.

Should work, there really easy to take out if you wanna try it, just 1 torx screw at the end of the handle at the end bit of the door. Then fit a de-locked handel to the passenger side. or if you have remote central locking de-lock both sides. I got too back handels for VAG parts was less than Â£40 i think, then you just have to paint them.

anyway, theres a guide in the DIY section on how to take off door handles and lock etc..

It's so annoying, why can't they work and save some hard earned cash rather than nick someone elses'?

On a better note, get those de-locked handles, they are simple to fit, even I could fit mine! (and they make a difference and prevents this happening again).
