WHERE CAN I GET A PARCEL SHELF!!!

Post by AKs_SlickPolo »

Hi, i am deperately after a mk4 Polo parcel shelf in black trim. I need it urgently, as my boot is exposed so i cant store anything in the car nor can i put speakers at the back. Does any1 have any idea where i can get one cheap please?

Cheers

If you want cheap, try a local breaker's yard - usually a couple knocking about. Don't know how hard black ones are to find though, many might be grey in colour?

Also, try Ebay? Or posting in the "Wanted" area of the forum, someone might be able to help you out there.

HTH! :D

i saw on Discovery channel, mike brewer was doing up a pug 205 and he sprayed the parcel shelf (i guess it was just normal spray, nothing special) and it worked fine, u cud try that if u didnt like the grey?

Temporary fix

Bit of harboard or thin chipboard and cover it (well glue to it) with black or dark grey cord carpet - shouldn't cost more than £10 and keeps prying eyes out of your boot...

If you can use a wood saw, a tape measure and a stanley knife you can make one

It (off course) won't lift up with the tailgate but if you cut it close it should stay in place and do the job

I think b&q will cut mdf to shape and size if u buy it from a b@q warehouse. However how do i get the shape. Ive never had 1 for it and so dont know what it even looks like? im sure i need a template for it, Cos i may just have to do this.

Would a mk5 parcel shelf fit (the crystal headlights one but with the same body shape???)

thanks
