Alpine HU remote wire

Post by tim »

just hooked up my jl amp, have a slight problem, the amp doesnt turn off with the head unit or with ignition, connected the remote wire from the amp to the blue and white wire on the head unit.

Any ideas, its a CDA 9812RR btw

the only thing i can think of is that ur head unit is constantly live, ie although you turn the power off there is still an electrical feed. Can u turn ur head unit on without the ignition being on?

I had this exact same problem today while fitting my 9833R.

To solve the problem, you have to cut the BLUE wire on the loom you get with the headunit. Just snip it and tape up both ends.

Then connect your remote cable from the amp to the BLUE/WHITE from the headunit and it will switch on and off fine.

Happened in my installation also. I think it's the power antena feed, but not sure.
