ok then hers a challenge for you all. i want specs and pics of any mad engine swaps in a mk5 they can even be just heavilly tuned stock engines what ever
if anyone has got any more info then please feel free to post up what ever you have, be it a how to or just tips

Yeah the Salzmann kit. There's a guy in Germany (named Salzmann) and he sold this 'kit' to a bloke fitting a 1.8T to a mk5. It was rubbish.
Paid some decent money, got a load of iron bits. He had to weld those bits to his original engine mounts and figure everything out himself. No good.
I haven't seen a real working kit yet, AFAIK it's all custom jobs, welding stuff together to hold the engine in place.
Another major concern is the length of the drive shafts. The TT ones are too long, so you'll have to shorten them. Not easy.
All the other stuff will probably give you less grief, such as the fitting of the exhaust, the intercooler and its pipes, the electronics and the dash, etcera.
I dream about this nearly every day. Can you tell?
