Not exactly a mk.V engine but VW in Brazil sells a Gol equiped with a 112bhp, 16V turbo engine... with 999cm³ displacement!

So there, how about a 1-litre, 16V turbo Polo mkV?

Yeah the Salzmann kit. There's a guy in Germany (named Salzmann) and he sold this 'kit' to a bloke fitting a 1.8T to a mk5. It was rubbish.

Paid some decent money, got a load of iron bits. He had to weld those bits to his original engine mounts and figure everything out himself. No good.

I haven't seen a real working kit yet, AFAIK it's all custom jobs, welding stuff together to hold the engine in place.

Another major concern is the length of the drive shafts. The TT ones are too long, so you'll have to shorten them. Not easy.

All the other stuff will probably give you less grief, such as the fitting of the exhaust, the intercooler and its pipes, the electronics and the dash, etcera.

I dream about this nearly every day. Can you tell?

why not speak to JBS? they put a g60 in a mk4 (as you know) - so they would be able to tell you all the problems you'll come across.
