Satisfied MK2 Owner!

Post by hypojam »

Today was the first time my polo has moved in 2 years!

Passed my driving test the other day, managed too gather the cash for insurance(£1100) and took it for the MOT today which it passed :D

The engine and the whole car is brilliant... Plenty of power, Comfortable ride.. I just cant help but have a big grin on my face when I'm driving it

Tomorrow i'm gonna go and get some tax and then i will be totally free to drive where i want.

Im So Happy!

nice to hear mate...i did exactly the same thing in october after having my car sit waiting for me for a year....the enjoyment still hasn't warn off yet 8) ...

admitidly i'd love more power for hills etc but still fun. (i bet a newer car would have got boring after the 1st week)

just watch your distance from the car in front (scary brakes)and watch your speed in the rain going round corners.

but other than that enjoy yourself. :D

p.s make sure you get yourself to the south-east meet and viking run, be nice to have another mk2 hatch there

Congrats on passing the test :D Welcome to a world of freedom, fun, and huuuuuge petrol bills
Glad you're enjoying driving the polo.. they really are fantastic little cars, and you'll really get a feel for what driving's all about with one rather than being wafted around in a padded envelope with no idea what's actually going on like you would with a newer car. Hope you're getting out there and driving it at every available oppurtunity :D

Just Been getting my head around fine tuning the the car lately as i had a few carb probs, but everything is running OK, all that needs sorting now is the ignition timing, but i cant really do that till i find myself a timing light

Once that's all sorted it should be as mechanically perfect as a 22 year old car can be

i normally play on that, before anyone sees my car i always play it up as a £50 piece of poo which will probably break down....then when they see it they're really impressed....if they're still not impressed then i just compare my last 2 MOT's to their last, that always shuts them up
