Re: shortended droplinks? what and why?
that are what connect your ARB (Anti-roll Bar) to the car.
the ARM runs basicly under the engine area to 'hold' the car together for better handling.
Having shortened drop links then moves the ARB higher and futher away from the drive shaft.
When lowering the drive shaft will come into contact with the ARB as the ARB is now lower, so to go over 50mm lower shortened droplinks will stop and rubbing between the ARB and drive shaft. (in theory as mine doesn't
)
I've hurd a few of the mk7 (mainly GTi lads) go for mondeo drop links. but i just ordered shortened droplinks when i bought my coilies and got them thrown in mega cheap.
hope thats correct/helpful.

so its just on the front yeh? hmmm think ill see how it goes :/ where can i order some from if i need them?
Re: shortended droplinks? what and why?
Ebay got for mk3 mondeo ones
You can get them for about £15 for a pair.
I am running coilovers and I have not changed the drop links and don't have a problem, it all depends how low you go.
I don't suppose you know the off set of your wheels?

Re: shortended droplinks? what and why?
the offset will be on the wheels it'll be something like et34 for example.
my new wheels are et38.. far too tucked inside the arch

Have a look at that mate. I am running tt comps and have not changed my drop links.
The only noise I get is the tyre rubbing on the arch liner over large pot holes
I have them wrapped in 205/40/17 toyo proxes

Re: shortended droplinks? what and why?

Its sitting about 2.5cm from the top of the alloys, front and back
Re: shortended droplinks? what and why?
would i hear this noise if the arb etc were rubbing? ive lowered my ap coilovers all the way down on the back and its sat more aless on the front tyres of my tt comps 205 40, no noises or anything?
