Rieger Rear Diffuser

Post by NeilMcConville »

Whats peoples opinion of this for the back of my 1.2 Match? I know its similar to the GTI but i just want to make my Polo look more sporty and i think this would be a great addition :)

Not worth it unless you have twin exhausts..

I'd keep the rear bumper/diffuser standard and if your going for the GTi look then consider a rear spoiler off a GTi. That with a decent twin-exhaust system would look OEM, specially when lowered.

Well the above Reiger diffuser is designed for the GTi bumper. In order for it to fit on yours you'd have to be pretty handy with a dremel or get someone to carv into your bumper. I personally don't think there's anything wrong with the rear of the non-GTI Polo models apart from the exhaust. Although I am an OEM-whore, I like everything to look as if it came with the car.

ABT is an alternative to Rieger, very expensive but its an alternative for you to look at.

Yeah I still want it to look as normal as possible, personally I don't think the ABT kit doesn't looks right. I'd look to just get the proper GTI back bumper as it does probably look the best

For the cost of a OEM GTi rear bumper I wouldn't bother mate. I bet if you rung VW and got a part number and a price (if they'd give you one) you'd suddenly not like the idea anymore

I posted a whole heap of links to body parts in another thread not too long ago. If you want to broaden your search to mainland europe, there are a few companies that are manufacturing full aftermarket kits for the 6R polo....
