Solid/Vented discs 1.0 Lupo(Arosa)

Post by piglet14 »

There seems to be a choice of vented or solid on the fronts of the Arouser.
The vented discs are 18mm thick & the solids 10mm.
Will both options go in the calipers with new pads?
Current fitment is solid, just fancy a techy upgrade.

For a 1.0, i wouldnt be that bothered. The brakes are piddly anyway

18mm vs 10mm is a massive difference too

Stick with solids in my opinion.

Fresh brake fluid and new discs and pads should improve it ten fold. My 1.0 6n2 polo brakes were good enough to stop if needed

Check the condition of the rear shoes too

What's the reg? I'll check out the original spec it should have brake wise

239x10mm is the spec for yours.

The 18mm is for the 1.4 upwards

ECP list a 239 x 18 vented for the 1.0
Part VAG-6N0615301C
Are the calipers the same for the 1.0 & 1.4?

Don't always trust what ECP says is compatible - it's often wrong

The 16V 1.4 has larger brakes - normally 256mm but it might be 239 on the arosa

Yep, 18mm vented don't fit.
The 10mm solid discs were down to 6mm in the middle, nice.
