Hello
I am new to this forum.
My son has a 2011 Polo and it has had an airbag light on for sometime. Garage replaced passenger airbag in dash/above glove box with a 2nd hand one bought online but the light has come back on after a week.
I have another one bought online to see if it does it again but before I fit it, a friend also lent me their old VCDS and the fault shows as below.
Can anyone offer any help.
Does this fault mean passenger side airbag in dash or passengers side airbag in seat?
Also is the igniter part of the airbag or something different.
Google shows lots of faults come from the wiring under the passenger seat as it get moved all the time when people get in the back.
thanks for your help

garage replaced the wrong airbag, this is the one in the seat
check the yellow plug underneath the seat, see if it's damaged or has any corrosion on the plug

Hi iichel
Thanks so much for your reply.
I was thinking this too because of the way the fault is written
Front Passenger's Side Airbag Igniter - does that mean passenger's side air bag (seat) or passenger side airbag (dash)
I will have a look under the seat and see what I can find.
thanks again

I had a look at the yellow connector but there didn't seem anything wrong with it.
Put it back together and coded out the fault. We are going to see if it comes back on if we don't move the seat.
When we have to move the seat and the light does re-appear then we know something is wrong under there and perhaps get a replacement seat or cut the connector off and hard wire the wires together as I have seen elsewhere on the web.
cheers

From some personal experience the connector often caused issues ( many vag models with age).
Maybe try removing neg battery lead, and clean the connector. ( I have found interdental teeth brushes to fit perfectly in various connectors and clean the without damaging)
You can find them in DM

Get the thinnest ones, + some contact cleaner. Let it dry then replug everything back
