Re: Removing boot handle and lock
Barely is held in by a clip you can't get to easily. It has to be done with a pair of long nose pliers Removing the handle isn't easy. It's three bolts on the inside. Barrel has to be out first too Ahh that's the one at the base of the barrel? Wasn't it you who helped me with it seven years back? I...

Re: Removing boot handle and lock
Yeah I tried using the Haynes mate but couldn't find a way of getting the barrel separate from the handle, plus I couldn't get the handle out of the boot!!

Removing boot handle and lock
Had a look for a DIY but had no luck, can anyone direct me through how to remove the boot handle and switch over the actual barrel? What's really frustrating is I did this about seven years ago but can't for the life of me remember how I did it!!!

Retrofitting GTi Headlights and washer system to normal 6n2
Apologies if this has been asked before but I did do a search first. I'm on the hunt to find a breaking polo GTi so I can steal the xenon headlights but I plan on making the system completely legal if possible e.g. auto levelling and washer jets. Is the retrofit easy? e.g. plug and play with the rig...

Re: Shantybeater's TDi Progress thread
Passenger door lock parts arrived today. At the moment I'm going through the boot as both doors rarely open. Disassembled the lock and found the usual broken parts and a sticky lock barrel. Gave it all a good cleaning/re-greasing and replaced broken bits http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r65/shanty...

Re: Shantybeater's TDi Progress thread
Weather held out long enough to give the car a good polish/wax: http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r65/shantybeater/WP_20131018_002_zps3e1b3554.jpg Paintwork is definitely in 'used' condition! Lots of scuffs here and there so she needs a bit of TLC. This might be the push I need to learn how to mach...

Shantybeater's TDi Progress thread
Ok, So recently I posted up the start of what I thought was a progress thread, unfortunately the car in question required too much attention for me to deal with at this time so I sold it at a loss. After coughing up more dough I'm hoping to have a much more reliable replacement this time around. Her...
