I was making reference to your comment about me thinking everything is a 1.8t and that the GTI engine isn't a high revving, i was pointing out the fact that the 1.8t (in my case AYP)is also a fairly low revving engine like the Gti. Sorry i should have made that clearer for you. Facts straight about...

Tuning a car means trying to maintain most of its features. At least for me tuning means improoving and not MUTATING...  You have no imagination my friend. Fitting TB's to a GTI is tuning it. :? Other than a supercharger, turbo and Nitrous TB's are the only other way of getting big pow...

Tuning a car means trying to maintain most of its features. Even an engine change is really drastical. You can try and put a 3.2 liter in the Gti too... Does that make it a 3.2 Gti ???? Dont think so. It more or less makes it a "bastard" car with an engine WAY too strong for what it can ta...

But come on changing a 1.6 gti lump for a 1.8 20v T people do it all the time in lupos I dont know of anyone replacing a 1600 GTi engine with a 1.8T to be honest. Most start with a 1.0 or 75hp Lupo. It just seems a little silly replacing a perfectly capable engine with a 1.8T. Fare enough you can g...

hey, i got the low down from bill, at badger. i was shocked at the price. the price he gave was about £2000-£2500 for parts and that was without fitted i think and defo without the remap. not going to go for the trottle bodys, going on hols with the bird so that drains the pennys away. but on the...

edit: cross post! poussou - I understand what you mean. Does that assume that the engine is set up for running at maximum power, i.e. VW haven't 'de-tuned' it a little for economy or emissions? when I took of the standard air inlet this weekend I noticed it was TINY compared to the 70mm diameter ho...

I forgot to add: Custom Code have done 3 1.6 16v's and 2 1.4 16v's now... So thats 3 polo gti's then? Would the custom code give the same hp increase for a standard car as for one that's had a filter and exhaust? Actually....NO.. Thats cause a remap is based on the principle that more ignition adva...

Hi everyone I have spoken to James about this and he has told the story from his side. For a start, my Nitroused Polo GTi only did the 1/4 in 16.4 seconds. When it was bog standard, I did a 17.6s run with a decent start. James told me that he said that you could have a MAP or Temp sensor problem, n...

Hallo Moyas... Remember me?? Remember what i told you about the HP you have ??? So listen up now.... 1) There is no MAF sensor in the Gti and the bloke was BSing you BIG TIME.The ECU uses a MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor to control the car. 2) I was skeptical about the "Custom Code&quo...
