Re: Removing Swirl Marks Black Paint
Depending on the depth of the swirls you'll be hard pushed to remove them by hand. As an alternative you can fill them temporaraly with a glaze such as poorboys black hole which is excellent for black paint. Seal it with some decent hard wax and that should improve the finish and hide some of the li...

Re: noises coming from my car... help?!
Yes could still be the release bearing, it stops when the clutch is depressed as it's not engaged. In terms of replacing, It's a gearbox off job unfortunately, that's the most labour intensive part. Replacing the bearing is relatively easy and the part is cheap. Maybe around 200 all in? Can't be 100...

Re: First Car
Hi Max
You could get a tidy 6N2 polo for around £1500. A 1.0 MPI might be a good choice to get you started, Alexperkins had one for his first car and was very fond of it. Cheap insurance and tax too!

Re: Ross' GTI
I have S3 recaros in mine. Fitting the rears is an arse! Mine are mounted on the polo backs, there are areas on the backs where the fabric/leather doesn't fit properly but most of the time this is in unoticable areas such as underneath. The plastic trim where the release lever sits doesn't fit so yo...

Running the car like that is technically OK, just be wary in the wet as you don't have ABS!
It's a module off jobby yes, careful removing the four gold star headed bolts that hold it on. They are very easy to round off so ensure you've got your ratchet on at the right angle and with firm pressure.

Re: noises coming from my car... help?!
The grinding/rattling noise that stops when you depress the clutch is likely to be your clutch release bearing. The ABS fault may be due to a sensor, or the actual ABS module itself. If you know someone with VCDS they can scan the car and tell you . The same goes for the emission light, although the...

Re: FIRST CAR! HELP NEEDED
You can by adaptors that plug straight into the back of the Gamma/Beta unit. But I'd save for a aftermarket headunit which will give you better music control and improved sound quality.

Re: New Boy!
Welcome along!
VCDS is good for things like lock/ unlock bleep (which i find annoying), but mostly just fault finding and clearing.
49K that's impressive!

I believe they are the same mate. Most retailers have an exchange process whereby you take your old one in and get a new one in return.
